When mulching is not enough

Tree Clearing in Queensland

Mature timber, stumps and root systems taken out cleanly with a dozer or excavator, then raked and finished so the property is ready to work rather than covered in debris.

Why this matters

Heavy Timber Blocks Everything Else

A mulcher will handle regrowth and small timber all day, but it will not take out a mature stringybark or the root plate underneath it. Once the timber on a block is past that size, everything you want to do with the property — fencing, cropping, building, laying pipe — is held up until it comes out properly.

Stumps left behind are their own problem. They damage slashers and tyres, sit in the way of fence lines and services, and make it impossible to get a level finish across the ground.

What we do

Timber Out and the Property Finished

We push, fell and remove mature timber using a dozer or excavator, and take out stumps and root systems where the ground needs to be worked afterwards. Material can be stacked for burning, windrowed to your instruction, mulched down, or set aside for firewood and milling.

The part that gets skipped by cheaper operators is the finish. After the timber comes out we stick rake the ground to lift roots and small debris to the surface, so you are left with a property that can be slashed, cropped or fenced rather than one covered in half-buried timber.

How the job runs

Timber Down, Ground Left Workable

Taking the trees out is only half of it. The finish is what you actually live with.

  1. We agree what stays

Habitat trees, shade trees and anything mapped gets marked and worked around. We would rather spend an extra half hour walking the block than take out something you wanted kept.

  2. We take the timber out

Trees are pushed or felled and root systems lifted with the machine best suited to the size of the timber and the ground conditions on the day.

  3. We rake and finish

The ground is raked to bring roots and buried debris to the surface, then the material is stacked, mulched or windrowed however you have asked for it.

Stumps You Leave, You Work Around

Putting tree clearing off, or having it done without a proper finish, usually leads to:

  • Slasher and tyre damage from stumps and roots hidden under regrowth
  • Fence lines and service trenches diverted around timber that should have come out
  • Ground that cannot be levelled, cropped or built on until the roots are lifted
  • Half-buried timber surfacing for years every time the property is worked

Straight answers

Good Questions — Here's What to Know

Do you remove the stumps as well as the trees?

Yes, where the ground needs to be worked afterwards. Stumps and root plates are lifted with the excavator or dozer and then raked out. If you are only after the timber down and are happy to leave stumps in place, that is a cheaper option and we will price it that way.

Can you clear trees close to houses, sheds and fences?

Close-quarters work around buildings and infrastructure is a normal part of the job. Genuine high-risk removals directly over a house or power lines are arborist work with rigging, and we will tell you when a job falls into that category rather than attempting it.

What happens to the timber afterwards?

Your call. It can be stacked for burning, windrowed, mulched down, or set aside for firewood or milling if it is worth keeping. We agree that up front so the property ends up the way you expect.

Do I need approval to clear mature trees?

Often, yes. Mapped remnant vegetation and some protected species need approval before anything comes out, and the rules differ between council and state controls. We work to the vegetation codes and will flag anything that looks like it needs approval, but obtaining it stays with the landholder.
